Check List While Buying Generic Drugs

Generic drugs are the favorite choice of the customers rather than the original branded drugs because of the low prices. Generic drugs show the same effectiveness like the branded drugs. Thus because of these points, generic drugs have now captured about 65% of the pharmacy market in the world. Nowadays many fraud companies are selling their drugs as the generic drugs. So, it is very necessary for the customers to know the difference between the fraud drugs and generic drugs. Please go through the following steps that will explain you the some important points that you should confirm while buying the generic drugs.

1. Please note that whether generic drugs are approved by the Food and Drug Administration in United States or if you staying in another country then you can check whether it is approved by your government.

2. Generic drugs contain the same active constituent like the original branded drug, so please confirm this by checking the ingredients mentioned on the sachet of the drugs. Example:- Viagra as well as generic Viagra i.e. Kamagra contains Sildenafil Citrate as the active constituent.

3. Note that the concentration of the active constituent in the generic drug and the original branded drug is always same. If the concentration of the active constituent in the generic drug is different than the concentration of the active constituent in the original branded drug then please avoid buying that generic drug and take the doctors advice.

4. All the constituents in the generic drugs and the original branded drugs should be same. Please check the ingredients mentioned on the product packets.

5. Please show the generic drug after purchasing to your doctor because he will be the best person to judge whether it is generic drug or the fake drug.

6. Please check the spelling of the generic drugs you are purchasing properly before purchasing because the companies that manufacture the fake drugs slightly change the spelling and sell it as the generic drugs.
Example: Caverta the generic Viagra will be changed to Cavetra.

7. If you are purchasing the generic drugs from the online pharmacy confirm whether it is genuine pharmacy. Please check whether drugs it is selling are approved by the Food and Drug Administration or not. Please try to confirm by checking the names in the list of FDA approved drugs and then only purchase them.

8. Please take the receipt of the purchase from the online pharmacy or the retail pharmacy store of your purchase. If they are not ready to give the receipt then please don’t buy the drugs from them. They might be selling you the fake drugs on the name of generic drugs.

9. Please check whether which company is manufacturing those drugs and you can check the name of the drugs on that company’s website. If the drug is not mentioned on the company’s website then it is best to not purchase such a drug.

10. A true fake drug however will be composed of chalk dust, or floor sweepings or whatever may be to hand and looks/smells/tastes vaguely like the original. If it does contain the stated active ingredient(s), they may be of low or untested quality or purity: not have enough or any of the stated active ingredient(s) and may even contain harmful or allergenic substances. Avoid such fake drugs because it may harm your health.
